Purchasing Your Personal Lab

A Personal Lab is a dedicated educator environment used to explore sample solutions, teach in class, or review student work.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will typically need a Personal Lab when co-teaching a Coursepack. If you are a Coursepack collaborator, you can purchase your lab directly from within that Coursepack.

During the Cousrepack Publishing Process

For institution-paid Coursepacks, collaborators can purchase personal labs or top up lab hours when submitting the Coursepack for publishing. 

During the request submission process, locate the prompt “Would you like to purchase Cases/Labs for the Coursepack Instructor/Collaborators?” Select Yes and click Next.

The system will then display a list of the current contents grouped by instructors and collaborators. You will see two columns to guide your selection:

• Already purchased: This shows whether the user already has a valid lab or not. 
• Add to Courseapck order: This shows two checkboxes (Yes and No) for your decision making. If a user already has a valid Personal Lab, the checkbox will default to No to avoid duplicate purchases. However, you may still choose Yes if you wish to purchase additional lab hours for them.

If you choose Yes, a personal lab for that user will be added to the Coursepack order. After making your selection, click Next to preview the order.

If the Coursepack is Already Published

If a Coursepack is already published, it's not too late to add your personal lab. Go to the Coursepack details page and clicking Show Details and Manage.

Then select Add More Items to order the additional items along with the existing coursepack.

Click Next.

Verify added items and click Confirm to add Coursepack Items for Instructor/Collaborator.
