No. You need to register an ACRC student account. ACRC is an independent platform and is not connected to your university’s login system like Moodle or Canvas. This means you cannot log in with your student portal credentials.

Coursepack

A Coursepack is a collection of cases and/or labs organized by your instructor for your specific course. It serves as your digital bundle of ACRC materials for the semester.

To join a Coursepack, you need:

  1. An ACRC student account registered with your institutional email address;
  2. The unique Coursepack enrolment link from your instructor to enroll for material access

Once you have your instructor’s link and your ACRC student account ready, follow these steps:

  1. Log in: Sign in with your ACRC student account.
  2. Open the link: Click the unique Coursepack link provided by your instructor.
  3. Enroll: Follow the prompts to join. If the Coursepack requires a fee, you will complete a secure payment during this step.
  4. Learn: Once enrolled, you can download cases and access labs at any time before the Coursepack end date.

Your instructor will share a Coursepack link with you. Copy and paste this link into your web browser, sign in with your ACRC student account, and follow the on-screen instructions to complete your Coursepack enrolment.

You will have access until the Coursepack end date, which is set by your instructor. You can find this exact date listed on your Coursepack page.

In most cases, this is because you have not enrolled in the Coursepack yet. Your instructor should have shared a Coursepack enrolment link with you. Use this link to enroll, and the Coursepack will appear automatically in your account.

Once the end date passes, the Coursepack expires. At this point, you will no longer be able to download cases or access labs. If you have questions about the end date, please contact your instructor first.

DAP Lab

A DAP lab is a virtual workspace on the Data Analytics Platform (DAP), a cloud‑based learning environment for working on real‑world data analytics cases directly in your web browser. DAP currently supports:

  • RStudio for R programming
  • Jupyter Notebook for Python
  • Orange for visual data mining

Each lab is tailored to a specific case and comes preloaded with the required datasets, packages, and libraries, so you can start working immediately without installing any software.

You can access labs directly from your Coursepack page. The online workspace looks and feels similar to the desktop software versions, but includes a few specific features for your coursework:

  • Usage Timer: A timer will display your remaining lab hours (which are set by your instructor)
  • Watermark: Watermarks of your account information will appear on the interface.
  • Saving & visibility: You can create and save files directly within the workspace. Note that your instructor has access to view your workspace files.
  • Important restriction: You cannot upload outside files into the lab, nor can you export datasets out of it.

Yes. You can access the labs as long as you have a stable network.

You can access your DAP labs from the Coursepack page they are included.

Lab hours are set by your Coursepack instructor. If you need more time, please first contact your instructor to ask about additional hours.

You do not need to download or export any files for submission. As long as you save your work inside the lab workspace, your instructor will be able to access and review your files directly from their side.

A Group-mode lab allows you to share a single lab workspace with the other student(s) in your group within the same Coursepack.  All group members work in the exact same environment and can easily see each other's files and progress.

Important: To protect your progress and prevent accidental overwrites, group members should not edit the same file at the same time.

On the lab start page, you will see the Student User Mode displayed under the lab title.
