In 1995, Sino Land Company Limited made the decision to spin-off its hotel and hospitality interests into a newly listed company known as Sino Hotels (Holdings) Limited. The restructuring move was greeted with enthusiasm when it was first announced on 25 January, 1995. This case is part B of a two-part case series and is written to accompany "Sino Land íV Hotel Spin-off (A)". The case can also be used on a stand-alone basis. It describes the spin-off deal, Sino LandíŽs performance before the spin-off, and the forecasts for its performance after the spin-off. The case is intended to be an exercise in multibusiness valuation. It provides students with an opportunity to use multibusiness valuation to assess the restructured value of a multibusiness company.
